Sr. Strategic Sales Specialist
Below, you will come across the many projects and contributions that I have been a part of during my time as a DSS Sales Specialist and Sr. Sales Specialist. The projects will show insight into the learning experiences I have gained and the different roles I have played. From taking on leadership roles, to developing new ideas and practices, the DSS role has always pushed me to become a better version of myself each and every day.
What makes the DSS organization truly unique in nature is that we are consistently put in positions where we are faced with learning opportunities. Our continued education with Digital Marketer is only the tip of the iceberg! The natural inclination to collaborate with our peers is always celebrated and encouraged, which leaves me with the feeling that the opportunities to learn something new every day are endless. The success of the DSS organization is the forward-thinking mentality to stay current on latest news around digital commerce and to push each other to learn together so that we will exhibit a true center of excellence or “Big Mac” approach. This puts our organization into an elevated position where we remain flexible, agile, and most importantly, eager to learn!
Sr. Sales Specialist Contributions
Projects and Collaborations
In the DSS role, a successful specialist must be able to juggle multiple roles and projects at one time. This fosters creativity and teaches responsibility. Mentorship Testimonials
The delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves — Steven Spielberg
Mentorship to me, is about listening to the needs of your mentee. By providing them with knowledge and celebrating their “wins,” you allow others to see their potential and the incredible knowledge they hold. I believe it is important to be open to learning just as much as you are dedicated to teaching. Admitting when you don’t have the answer, but always willing to do the research alongside your mentee creates a relationship between equals that solidifies the mentality of always being willing to learn! Mentorship has a very human aspect to it that allows for professional and personal relationships to form, which in turn creates an environment where people are not afraid to ask questions or test their methods of creativity in front of others they trust. Which is exactly what our FedEx PSP mentality is meant to foster!
“A mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you, than you see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you”. – Oprah Winfrey. Andrea has been exactly that to me since she became my mentor at FedEx within DSS. She has been a one of kind influencer in my future and career and I am so honored to call her my mentor and my friend. I came to the professional role I am in now after years and years of hearing the word no and doubting myself and my own abilities. Being a female of color breaking into a new career can be especially challenging and negativity can make even the most confident person question themselves. Andrea also being a female of color was inspirational at a pivotal moment of my career. Seeing the drive and positive spirit she reflects everyday can cast whatever doubt you may have out. From our first meeting she has been a master collaborator who is not one to covet information but share it willingly and freely because she wants everyone to win and be successful. Andrea embodies not only the purple promise we strive to for everyday at FedEx, but she also pushes you to do more, strive for more, and celebrate the wins! I am so thankful for Andrea and I cannot wait to see how brightly her star will shine going forward.”
“Andrea has gone above and beyond my expectations in assisting me throughout selling process. Whether that be expediting a case that was time sensitive or being willing to do extensive research after a case to provide the correct solution, Andrea has been willing to go the extra mile. She’s also been a great communicator and teacher about all things e-commerce at our once a month sessions.”
